“Allen’s performance is truly memorable. He displays incredible versatility in the characters he portrays…[his] performances are over-the-top and absurd, yet entirely believable – it’s a beautiful thing.” Elyce Phillips – Squirrel Comedy       Full Review HERE

Scripted Pieces

A collection (in progress) of some scripted pieces. Initially spawned out of improvs, then distilled.

Michael-Anthony’s Flavour Groove

A new lifestyle program starring music producer and chef, Michael-Anthony. A collaborative piece written by Peter Brennan (dir), Andy Lane and Sam Allen. Currently filming episodes 2-4. Release date in October 2014

The Greatest Love of All

A small cameo I wrote and performed in for the web-series The Greatest Love of All.

Lavenders B&B

Myself, Nicky Arnall (Winners & Losers, Neighbours, Home & Away), Paula Salini (ABC) and Chris Harrigan’s sizzle for our entry into ABC’s Fresh Blood, Lavenders. B&B owner Bernithe Taggart introduces us to her wonderful home-based hotel where guests can enjoy her range of towel art and lavender jams (‘Lavvy jam’). We also meet her son Rory – a rainbow hunter and popular voice on Reddit – while Don the local butcher-cum-spray-tan-beautician shows off his small-batch tanning hue ‘Coolangatta Mutt’.

Here is a collection of improvised pieces I’ve made over the last few years. Some like Luke had a rough treatment and others like All Eyes On Thornbury and Will GreeneCat Lover relied on the site to inspire the shoot. At times my writing partner – Chris Harrigan – would throw in suggestions then attempt to film while trembling his hand.

All Eyes On Thornbury – Part 1

Bored one day, Chris and I walked up to Thornbury village with a camera. The location pretty much wrote itself.
